Strenuous We will start our trip by running a car shuttle that will put one car at the end of our hike at Betty Creek Gap. We will then return to the trail head and start our hike by going 4.2 miles on the Kimsey Creek Trail up to Deep Gap. From here, we will start on the Appalachian Trail, reaching the Standing Indian shelter at 0.9 miles. At this point, we will fill up our water bottles so before making the last 1.5 miles to Standing Indian. We will set up camp near the top, and spend the evening watching the sunset from this 5500 ft peak. The next day, we will continue along the ridge line fro 10 miles, taking in fine views of the surrounding mountains, until we reach Betty Creek, where our shuttled car will be waiting for us. | |||||||
