Adventure Sunday starts with a morning hike at the Suwannee Mountain Preserve. For those who have not been to this trail before, it is beautiful. The Suwannee Mountain Preserve is close to Atlanta and located in Cumming Georgia. The trail has two main sections: one that starts at Spot Rd and another that starts at Bettis Tribble Gap.  For the hike on Sunday, plan to hike 10 miles of trail that covers both sections.

The trail is gorgeous with many interesting sights to see including, the Indian seats, tree house, Yucca trail, and other interesting sights. The hike will start at the visitor’s center where we make our way down to the new trail system, for the orange, yellow and green trails to see the church,  egg art at the church and nature for the first 5 miles.  Next, we head back down and cross the road to the other part of our hike at Suwannee Mountain. We will cover around 5 miles of the trails around the mountain to the Indian Seats, summit, tree house and other interesting sights on the trails.

The hike is a 10 mile/ D4, but it will be a fast pace with a few short breaks in moderate elevations.  We will begin our hike at 7am and plan to be finished at 11:30 am.  (Requirement: must have hiked at least 2 hikes with the AOC).

It is going to be fun and it is a great trail!

I look forward to hiking with you   and will meet you at the visitor’s center at 4075 Spot Rd, Cumming, Ga30040
