Itinerary:

This a great hike that has spectacular views and many changes in scenery.

We will leave the Burrells ford camping area and head up the foothills trail into the Ellicott Rock Wilderness area continuing along the path until we reach the Fork Mountain Trail.

After a short break at the restrooms along the way we will continue to the junction with Bad Creek and make our way along the Chattooga River trail.

If time and weather permit we may have a chance to take a swim in the Chattooga River before returning to the cars so please bring your swimwear and river shoes.

This will be a strenuous hike at a MODERATE PACE 2.5-3 miles per hour and approximately 3500 feet of elevation gain. If you have not completed several recent D5 hikes within the club, the TL will contact you to discuss your fitness for this hike.
