Itinerary:

Martin's Landing (ML) is a beautiful subdivision in Roswell, GA.  It is centrally located just east of GA400 exit 7 (and it is where I live).

See directions below - when you pull in the main entrance of ML make a right onto Martin Road and there is a parking lot just a few feet in on your right (there is parking on the left of the main entrance also at the playground).   We will follow a dirt/unpaved trail along Seven Branch Creek until we reach Martin Lake.  Then we will continue to the left around the lake on a paved walking path for a short distance and then path changes to unpaved again.  When we arrive at dam at the south end of Martin Lake we again meet up with a paved walking path, will head towards and cross over Riverside Road and then again pick up a few unpaved trails that run along the Chattahoochee.  then back to Martin Lake taking the paved walking path on the west side of the lake, and at the top of the lake we will have to decide as a group to take the unpaved trail back to our cars OR take Martin Road back to the cars.  It will really depend on how dark it will be.  The unpaved sections of the hike are like most hiking trails - rutted, roots, holes, uneven ground, etc. and a little tricky at dusk/dark.

I have done this route before on my own but never with a group.  I am very familiar with the parking lot to the dam and back portion of the hike but not as familiar with the across Riverside Road part of the hike therefore I am calling it exploratory.  And I have never checked mileage on this hike - I belive I can get at least 4 miles but it may be a bit more.

We will begin our hike promptly at 5:30 - there are no restrooms available
