Itinerary:
moderate (11 1/2 mile hike), with one short strenuous uphill.

This is a long hike in a rugged, primitive; but incomparably beautiful wilderness area with two nice waterfalls and a little bushwhacking and one cold water crossing.

We will get to the primitive campsites (no restrooms), in time to set up camp; enjoy each other’s company for a while, including a communal dinner together (provided by the participants); before resting. Sunday morning we’ll wake up around eight, eat each persons chosen breakfast food; pack up tents and gear in our vehicles. Sundays 11 ˝ mile casual paced hike, will have two rest stops at conveniently placed waterfalls. Depending on when we start in the morning, we should finish at 4:30 PM to 5 PM, before heading to an inexpensive Chinese dinner in a nice little restaurant in Andrews, NC.

Required Items to Bring:
good hiking boots only (no sneakers or shoes without good support) 2 liters of water (leader will bring a ‘PUR’ water filter to filter more water for the trail).

Bear in mind, once we leave the grocery store in Robbinsville for any forgotten items needed, civilization is left behind, including modern restrooms, showers. Bring appropriate toiletries, trail shovel, etc.

Please bring whatever you want to offer for your contribution to dinner. You must email the leader to tell him what side dish you want to contribute. (Whether that is as simple as chips and dip or a vegetable platter or potato or macaroni salad--the leader will provide the main course. Please e-mail Bruce (bulwink@bellsouth.net)to coordinate food items (desserts, side dishes, salad)

Please bring your own breakfast for Sunday morning and a packed lunch for the hike if you desire.
