Itinerary:

From the parking lot at Tesnatee Gap, we'll hike south on the Appalachian Trail.  The first  mile or so will be steady uphill to the summit of Cowrock Mountain.

Located in the Ravens Cliff Wilderness, in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Cowrock Mountain is the highest point in Lumpkin County and has an elevation on 3,852".  There also sweeping views of the Towns Creek Valley.

After enjoying the views, we'll follow the trail through several miles of mellow ups and downs until we descend into Neels Gap.  There are restrooms, a store and picnic tables here and we'll take a break for lunch.  After lunch, we'll return the way we came.

On the drive up, we'll plan a short restroom break in Cleveland, GA.

Up to 2 well behaved dogs will be allowed on the trip.

In case of bad weather, I'll postpone the event.
