Itinerary:

Join us for a  7 mile round trip trek from the East Palisades whitewater parking lot to Heirloom BBQ and back.  It is a D3 due to some scrambling on part of the hike.

We will hike to the end of  the marked river trail at the overlook rock, then scramble along the river to Rays on the River. We will then cross the Chattahoochee river on the powers ferry bridge and take the Bob Callen concrete trail to Heirloom BBQ on Akers Mill Rd.

Having "earned our brisket" we will enjoy a BBQ lunch for 20-25 minutes and then reverse our course.

On the return hike we will take the big action hill to poppi's point and take a short break at the wooden deck overlooking the river.

We expect to return to our cars around 2:15 pm.

The hike will be approximately 7 miles with several steep ascents / decents.  This hike is not for someone with a fear of heights or a fear of scrambling.
