Itinerary:

 

We will be meeting at the Indian Trail entrance NOT Whitewater Creek. 

Again, Indian Trail Entrance.

You can enter "east palisades trailhead indian trail rd" in google maps for directions.

This unit of the Chattahoochee River offers a taste of rugged beauty from high, heavily wooded ridges above the water to sandy, lushly carpeted floodplains lines with ferns, willows, and bamboo.

We will be going up the Big Awesome Hill (BAH) as well as out to the bamboo forest anhd the overlook.

Don't let this scare you off, we'll go at a slow pace up the climb.

Dogs are permitted and must be leashed.

Water.

Good hiking shoes or boots, trails will be muddy.

From I -285 Eastbound - Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road. - Right on Northside Drive. - Travel 1.1 miles to Indian Trail (on right) and turn right. - Indian Trail to the park entrance (0.4 miles). - Take gravel park entrace road 0,3 miles to parking lot.

From I-285 Westbound - Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road. - Straight to second traffic light. - Left on Northside Drive - Travel 1.1 miles to Indian Trail (on right) and turn right. - Indian Trail to the park entrance (0.4 miles). - Take gravel park entrace road 0,3 miles to parking lot.

From I-75 - Exit onto I-285 Eastbound - Follow directions for "From I- 285 Eastbound." http://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/indiantrail.htm

Parking fee of $3 for daily pass or a Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area Annual Pass for $35 is necessary.

 Please place pass on dashboard or rear view mirror of your vehicle.
