Itinerary:

Tallulah Gorge State Park is well known for the spectacular views of the Tallulah River down the 1,000 foot deep canyon walls. Most visitors head for the rim trails to the canyon overlooks. We will leave the crowds behind and head down the Stoneplace Trail to Tallulah Lake, where we will take a break and have the opportunity to swim. We will return retracing our steps and vial the High Bluff Trail. Depending on group energy, we can add an optional side trip along the North Rim Trail.

Difficulty rating: the elevation change is in the D3 range, but please note this is a 12-mile hike.

The drive to the state park is about an hour from the Park and Ride. When we arrive, we will check in at the park office to get our hiking permits and stop for a bathroom break.

There is a day use fee at the state park.
