If you are like many people today gearing down from the fast pace of life can be very difficult. However, in little more than an hour from Atlanta, you can be in one of the most scenic and beautiful areas in North Georgia. Relax in the outside hot tub while looking at a star filled sky or spend some time in the North Georgia Mountains. There is plenty to do in the area including boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, tubing, and rafting. A large parking pad makes it convenient to bring your own boat or personal water craft. Boat ramps are close to the house but no private docks are allowed on this un-crowded lake actually making it nice to ski, fish, or see the lake on a pontoon.

This is will be a non-structured weekend retreat to get you a little closer to nature, and give you a chance to let the beautiful mountains of North Georgia release you from the stresses of everyday life.

We will provide information on trails, and activities in the area, but all activities will be up to the individual.

We will have group meals Friday night, Saturday for breakfast and dinner, and Sunday morning. Sack lunches will be provided for those who wish to get out during the day.

Required Items to Bring:
The lodge will supply all necessary linens, but you may want to bring an extra towel for the hottub.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

Carters Lake, Ellijay, GA Carter’s Lake Lodge 9 pm (please contact events@atlantaoutdoorclub.com if you will be meeting us at the lodge. You will need passcodes to get into the resort.) From Atlanta, take I-75 North to I-575 North and continue on I-575 (I-575 will become 515 North) until you reach Ellijay.

At the first intersection in Ellijay you will see a Burger King and Wal-Mart on the right and a McDonalds on the left. Take a left at the light (this is Maddox Road but there is no street sign).

Go approximately 1 mile, through the four way stop sign. Maddox will dead end into 282, turn left.

Take 282 West out of Ellijay for approximately 11 miles

Turn left on Ridgeway Baptist Church Road and go about 3/4 of a mile.

Turn right on Lakeland and go about 1 mile.

Take a left on Hunter Ridge, you will pass through the property gates.

Stay to the left of the split in the road and go about 1 mile.

Turn right on Lake Forest.

Continue on Lake Forest approximately ¾ of a mile, turn left on Lakeside Trail, cabin is down the hill on the right.

Cost Includes:

As this is a lodge with rooms like a house, we will be pricing this trip based on bed use. If you can share a bed with someone else, there will be a discounted price of $200.00 per couple. If you would like a bed for yourself, the price is $115.00.

There is one master bedroom with a small private deck overlooking the lake. A couple can reserve this room for $130 per person. This is the only room that does not share space with other people.

Deposit of $25.00 per person required within 10 days of sign up to hold your space. You may pay in installments if you wish. Full payment due by March 12th.

Refunds okay before March 12th. No refunds after March 12th unless you can find someone to take your space.
