Itinerary:

As most of you know, Irma shook up the woods quite badly knocking down both huge quantities of small litter and big old trees. The Bartram could use some help in cleaning up and apparently this particular stretch is a real mess. That sounds like fun! We will clear off from the trail whatever we can with our strong arms, our small saws, and clippers. Afterwards I will report to the trail overseer the number of big blowdowns that need crews with chainsaws.

We will start out at Warwoman Dell parking area and head south along the Bartram Trail. We will tackle whatever we come across moving forward to the turn-around point (as measured by time), from where we will hike briskly back along the mostly cleared trail. We don't know exactly how many miles we will end up covering, but your body will get a workout all the same as you will be using unaccustomed muscles. Somewhere along the way, we will stop to have lunch.

This is a working hike, please wear your cruddy hiking clothes, long pants and a long sleeve.  You may want to bring a change of clothes.  There is a toilet at the trail head (pit).

We will stop in Clayton for a celebration, but this is entirely optional as we know it is a Sunday and you may want to head home.

Please bring gloves, small saws, and clippers.  No power tools.  Don't bring anything too heavy to carry the distance.

Ann will be co-ordinating the carpool and Dorothea will be joining the group at the Clayton Ingles. Anyone else "meeting at event" should be at the Ingles by 9:45.
