This is a point-to-point backpack on the Pinhoti trail in Talledega National Forest, starting at Bull Head Gap and finishing at Cheaha Trailhead. This section of the Pinhoti will contain many nice views and/or points; including, (1) Heath Cliffs (see memorial RIP); (2) Sherman Cliffs, (3) Horn Mountain Fire Tower (side trail), (4) Wormy's Pulpit; (5)  Scott's Cascade; (6) Rocky Top 1-3; (7) the "Rock Garden" (8) Stairway to heaven with an amazing view at Rocky Top 4; (9) McDill Overlook Trail (side trail to a very nice view and plane wreckage, 0.25 side trail); and (10) Hernandez Peak (highest point on AL Pinhoti, not much to see, second highest in AL).

Day 1: Saturday Dec 30 (~15 miles)- We will depart the carpool at 7am, arriving at Bull Gap around 9am. We will then shuttle at least on car to the finish point at Cheaha trailhead. We will hike approximately 15 miles this day finishing around Scott's Lake campsite or at a Spring campsite just past it

Day 2: Sunday Dec 31 (~17 miles) - This day we will arise early to complete an additional 17 miles, to finish at Double Spring Crossing Campsite.

Day 3: Monday Jan 1 (~13 miles) - This day will complete the rest of the section, going from Double spring campground to Cheaha trailhead.
