Itinerary:

GREAT BLUE HERON - photo by Norm Melton - AOC hiker

AOC only allows a max. of 20 hikers on local/in town hikes BUT in the spirit of Christmas I have been given the go ahead to allow ALL hikers that want to hike attend.  Thought it best to have a co-leader on this hike to keep control of a rowdy bunch - Ayo has agreed to co-lead.

Please put yourself on the wait list and I will move you up to the attending list - see you Monday!!! (thanks BP)

Please join Ayo and Diana for a  Christmas morning for a hike on the beautiful trails of East Palisades.  We will be hiking approximateily 5 1/2 miles at a moderate pace (not super fast).   The Bamboo Forest is a must see for anyone that has not been to this park.   Spectacular views of the Chattahoochee River and surrounding area from the top of very steep hill known as the BAH (big (or bad) ass hill) - it's really not that bad.  Usually East Palisades is classifed as a D2 but addition of BAH bumps it up to a D3

There are no restrooms at this location

See directions to the trailhead at 1425 Indian Trail NW - the road leading to the parking lot is very narrow - go very slow as there may be cars traveling in the opposite direction.

$3.00 parking fee (cash) unless you have an annual pass for the CRNRA parks.
