Itinerary:

Chattanooga is  one of those super fun, active, outdoorsy, artsy kind of towns!!  We are heading that way for some biking and exploring, so come join us.

Before you read any further, please know this will be a long day, so if you are in a hurry to get back to Atlanta on Saturday, this may not be the event for you. :)

Bike rentals are available, see additional notes section below for more deatils.

We'll begin our Chattanooga adventure by biking the Tennesee Riverwalk from the base of the Chickamauga Dam to downtown Chattanooga. The Riverwalk is a multi- use paved path that parrallels the beautiful Tennesse River for most of the way. If you want to stop at anytime during the ride into Chattanooga, please do.  There's a ton of places along the way where the blue heron hang out and overall a lot of scenery to soak in. We are planning to explore the park near the Bluff View Art District area before crossing over the TN River via the Walnut Street Bridge.

Once we cross the Walnut Street Bridge, we'll lock up our bikes and take an approximate 3 hour lunch break to eat, picnic, explore, and play in the North Shore area. Here you will find Coolidge Park where there's a 100 year old Carousel ($1 a ride), lots of art in the park and surrounding areas, nice views of the TN river and picnic tables.  Directly behind the park, there's shops, restaurants, and Clumpies ice Cream (*smile*).  Bring your lunch or eat at one of the restaurants in town. Your TL will more than likely bring lunch to eat in the park, grab ice cream at clumpies and ride the carousel, several times. :). You're only as old as you feel! :)

The MORE

OPTIONAL -
A group of us will be staying in Chattanooga for the night. We will be staying at The Crash Pad Hiker Hostle in Chattanooga www.crashpadcha ttanooga.com. The Crash Pad offers a clean safe private bunk for $35 a night, private rooms are also available. Once we check in we will be exploring more of Chattanooga on foot (possibly uber) including options for dinner and local breweries. On Sunday morning we may be walking to the Hunter Museum of Art to enjoy the museum's exhibits, visiting the aquarium, going home, etc. or any given combination.

 * A Special Thanks to Paula! This is an attempt to mimic her excellent past adventures here.
