Winter Blues getting you down? Starting to feel CABIN FEVER? Then come join us for a weekend of outdoor activities at beautiful Mistletoe State Park. Named for Mistletoe Junction, Mistletoe State Park is set on the banks of Clark Hill Lake, which covers 78,000 acres on the Savannah River. Deer and wild turkeys are abundant in the park. Various ruins from past settlements, ranging from chimneys to gravesites to a moonshine still, are scattered through the park.

There are a variety of activities available in the area. Canoeing/Kayaking and fishing are available on the lake. There are 10 miles of trails to hike. And a short drive down the road is Keg Creek Loop, a mountain biking trail that is about 8 miles and will teach you how to ride over logs and cross drainage dips.

We will leave Atlanta Saturday morning. After arriving at the park, I’ll be leading a hike. You can join us on the hike or do your own thing. We’ll meet back at camp for a hearty stew. The evening will be spent around the campfire, toasting s’mores, telling stories, singing camp songs and drinking hot spiced cider and hot cocoa.

We’ll start Sunday morning with a warm breakfast and then the day is yours. I will be leading the Rock Dam Trail on Sunday morning. The Rock Dam Trail is approximately 5.5 miles through creek beds, and across the dam. Sunday would be a great time to check out the Keg Creek Loop if you enjoy mountain biking.

Saturday evening’s dinner and Sunday morning’s breakfast are included. Any other snacks or lunches are at your own discretion.

** We will be camping in a pioneer camp that has limited facilities. Hot showers are available for our use in the established campground.
