This hike is on the Benton MacKaye Trail (Sections 5a-5c) starting at Wilscot Gap/GA Hwy 60 to Old Dial Road, and returning the same way for a total of about 12 miles. We will hike over Tipton mountain and Bald Top where there are winter views of Lake Blue Ridge, as well as up to Brawley Mountain with fire tower and more winter views. Pace will be moderate. If there is interest and time allows, there is an option to go an additional ~2.6 miles round trip to the Toccoa River and the Shallowford Bridge Road. Dogs are welcome but must be on leash at all times and not interfere with other hikers or dogs. | |||||||
