Itinerary:

Join me for a hike in this scenic state park with a stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a snack. The pace will be a little slower than our typical 2.5 mph (probably taking an extra 45 minutes or so). We will begin from the parking lot at the top of the falls, so those with aching knees can avoid the stairs! We will make a loop using the AT approach trail and the Hike Inn Trail. Lemonade, coffee, and other beverages are usually available at the Len Foote Inn, and sometimes the Inn will share leftover snacks. A small donation is appropriate in return for the Hike Inn's courtesy. You should also bring your own snack.

Notwithstanding our slightly slower pace, this is not a beginner's event. The trip leader may contact any registrant who does not have D4 or D5 experience, or whom he believes may have difficulty with the hike.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $41.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

The Len Foote Inn often graciously provides coffee, tea, fruit and leftovers as snacks for day hikers. Please remember to bring enough money to tip appropriately if you choose to take advantage of this courtesy.

However, there is no guarantee food will be available when we arrive, so your trip leader highly recommends you bring a lunch also. :)

* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.

Cost Includes:

$5.00 State Park Fee unless you have an annual park pass.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:   Please review the AOC cancellation policy.
*Note:

At the time of this posting, the weather report is good. I will cancel on a case by case basis for terrible weather. In summer, we don't mind hiking in the rain, as long as lightning is not a problem.
