This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

This Gwinnett county park is a must if you've never seen it. We may be lucky to see its awesome spring blooms as the weather promises to be most condusive.  Don't let the name mislead you - - it isn't little!  It's an expansive park, the trails are well-maintained, and it's beautiful! I'm quite familiar with the trails, but I'm designating the event as exploratory because there may be some previously unexplored trails we might want to check out. The entire trail system is a little over 15 miles.

We'll meet just beyond the parking lot off of Fence Road - - near the bathrooms.  Just park and walk forward to the only building in sight.

We'll move at a moderate pace, with stops along the way for water, a snack, and photos. We want to cover most of the trail system, which will be between 8 and 9 miles, in 3.5 hours, so we'll have to keep moving. There is such a wide variety of things to see here, including forested trails, equestrian trails, overlooks and a huge, gorgeous lake.

Bring a snack or light lunch with you.  There is a really nice overlook with a great view that we can stop at for a few minutes to eat. Also, be sure to have plenty of water.  The temperatures are cooling down, but dehydration is always a danger.  Poles are recommended for people who like to use them.
