Itinerary:

Come join us for a morning fitness hike at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

We meet and start at the Visitor Center. We’ll go 2 rounds and over the Kennesaw Mountains 4 times for a total of 10 miles.

We will start from the Visitor Center and go over Kennesaw Mt., little Kennesaw Mt., and Pigeon Hill to Burnt Hickory Road for 3 miles.

We will turn around and retrace the same route to go over the mountains the 2nd time, and get back to the Visitor Center to complete the first round of 6 miles.

After a brief restroom break, we’ll start the second round. We'll follow the same route going over the mountains the 3rd time, but only go to the "2-mile" post just pass the little Kennesaw Mt. along the wooden fence on the right hand side.

We’ll then turn around going over the mountains the 4th time, and get back to the Visitor Center to complete our hike of 10 miles.

This is a fitness hike, but not a race. We all can go at the pace we like to train and enjoy for the moment. In the end we always get the excellent workout and something more.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before our starting time for getting ready and introduction. If you have to park at the overflow parking lot on Old HWY 41, you will need additional 5 more minutes to walk from there to the Visitor Center.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector

2) If you are not heading west after getting off of the Interstate you are going the wrong way.  You should be heading towards US 41 and downtown Marietta after getting off of I-75 onto the Canton Road Connector and see Kennesaw Mountain on your right.

3) You will be tempted to take the first exit off of the Canton Road Connector which is US 41, but do not take it. Proceed over US 41 on a bridge staying on the Canton Road Connector.

4) After crossing US 41 take a right at the first traffic light which is Church Street Extension.

5) You should cross railroad tracks soon.

6) Take a left onto Old 41 at the second traffic light.  If you get to US 41 again, you have missed the turn onto Old 41 so turn around.

7) Stay on Old US 41 until you pass in front of the mountain then turn left at the traffic light and park in the main visitor center lot if you can.  If full head back out to Old 41, take a left and park in the overflow parking lot farther down the road on the left.
