 <<< Potential Weather >>>

There may be a chance of light rain/shower on this Memorial Day holiday, but when weather is warm it can be more comfortable and refreshing hiking on a local trail than staying indoors. Bring rain gear if you prefer, even though we’ll be totally sweaty and wet anyway. So bring clean shirt for change is probably even more important for your comfort.

<<< Itinerary >>>

Come join us for a morning fitness hike at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

We meet and start at the Visitor Center. We’ll go 2 rounds and over the Kennesaw Mountains 4 times for a total of 10 miles.

We will start from the Visitor Center and go over Kennesaw Mt., little Kennesaw Mt., and Pigeon Hill to Burnt Hickory Road for 3 miles.

We will turn around and retrace the same route to go over the mountains the 2nd time, and get back to the Visitor Center to complete the first round of 6 miles.

After a brief restroom break, we’ll start the second round. We'll follow the same route going over the mountains the 3rd time, but only go to the "2-mile" post just pass the little Kennesaw Mt. along the wooden fence on the right hand side.

We’ll then turn around going over the mountains the 4th time, and get back to the Visitor Center to complete our hike of 10 miles.

This is a go at your own pace event. We all can go at the pace we like to train and enjoy for the moment. In the end we always get the excellent workout and something more.

Please arrive a few minutes before our starting time for getting ready and introduction. If you have to park at the overflow parking lot on Old HWY 41, you will need additional 5 more minutes to walk from there to the Visitor Center.

<<< Difficulty Rating >>>

Please only register if you are comfortable with D5 hiking, or moving from D4 to D5. We’ll go 10 miles with approx. 2,900 feet climbing in 4 hours. This is on the easier side of D5 hiking.

If your experience is not from the club, please include it in a note when you register. TL(s) reserves the right to remove registrants without sufficient track record for the safety of everyone. We encourage our members to actively participate with joyful experience, and most importantly to stay healthy and safe at the end of each event!
