Itinerary:

Let's show some love for the trails we so love!!!

Volunteers perform trail maintenance on the 20+miles of trails at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club provides Crew Leader supervision, tools, work gloves (or bring your own), water and snacks. Volunteers should wear work clothes and comfortable closed toed shoes.

We will stay together working as a group & following the instructions of our Crew Leader. We will learn the procedures of how to make our trails better for today & for the future.

Arrive by 8:00 am to allow time for sign-in, and getting to the Ampitheater (Visitor Center picnic area) which is 5-10 minute walk from the overflow parking lot. We will group near the registration table at the overflow parking lot.

This is the write-up by the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club:

June 9, 2018 Trail Work Day Plan

The work will consist mostly of more trashing the trail creep erosion, out sloping the trail in places, removing trip hazards, and finishing up some of the work from last month.

We will be working in two areas this work day, both the Mountain Trail and the 24 Gun Trail. Both Trail plans can be down loaded below.

Mountain Trail work plan -
Work for this month will again be on the lower portion of the Mountain Trail below the fire road, hopefully for the last time (exceptor future fence). Since most of the heavy work inthe trail limits is completed, work will be under traffic. If working in the trail, asusual, trail workers should call out “Hiker” and work can stop to let hikers pass.

Work for this month will be the bridges on the 24 Gun Battery trail.
Don’t start what you can’t finish. If done early, help another crew trash the eroded areas. Make it fun, and above all –BE SAFE!!

Next KMTC Trails Work Day is on Saturday, July 14th.
