Itinerary:

Thanks to AOC hiker Steve T. for the photo of King Creek Falls

Chattooga Trail is located near Clayton, Georgia in the Ellicott Rock Wilderness Area - located near where three states intersect (GA, SC, NC).  From what I understand and from my research there will be waterfalls (Spoonauger Falls and King Creek Falls and maybe more). From my research I discovered that many scenes in the movie Deliverance were filmed on the Chattooga River.  The Chattooga is an out and back trail of about 25 miles in length - we will only be doing a portion of it out and back.  Due to the exploratory nature the estimate of 12 miles in 5 hours may be slightly over/under on both time and distance.

Chattooga Trail - Just a very nice river in a peaceful valley - trail runs along the river at most points - elevation is minimal but any hills we come across will be hiked at a slow and easy pace.  The flatter sections of the trail will be at a moderate pace (not super fast)

From Indian Trail Park and Ride the drive is just about two hours - we will need a few volunteer drivers - Hike will begin as close to 9:30 as possible (when all the carpool cars arrive).
