Itinerary:

The Etowah disc golf course is located in the Riverside day use area directly downstream of the Allatoona dam. The plan is to play 18 holes of disc golf and then eat our lunch by the river. Please bring food that will be fine sitting in a warm car a couple hours.  Assuming that the water isn't too high from recent rains or an active dam release we will then spend some time playing around in the Etowah river. We will likely be back to the carpool before 1pm but I like to be safe when estimating in case something unexpected happens.

This event is targeted at both people who have some disc golf experience and absolute beginners.  If you do not have discs we will have enough to let people borrow for the event.
You can learn some basics here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc_golf.

This is a casual event to just have fun and introduce the sport to new players. We will likely do some sort of team / best shot format to keep things moving and fun for everyone.

Etowah is a nice course through the woods and rolling hills. More info about the course can be seen here: https://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=9420 . The course can get a bit muddy at times so don't wear any shoes that you want to keep clean.

There is a $5 per car entrance fee for the park which is the primary reason for the short carpool. Bring cash because sometimes there is not a person at the entrance booth and you have to put money in an envelope.  Additionally if you happen to have a national parks annual pass please bring it because I believe it is accepted at US Army Core of Engineers parks. If driving yourself we will meet in the first parking lot on the right after entering the park.

Required Items to Bring:

Disc Golf Discs if you have them (we will have some for anyone without discs)

Lunch

A change of clothes and a bag to put wet items if you are riding in the carpool

A few dollars in cash for the carpool and entrance fee if riding in the carpool

Recommended Items to Bring:
