Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Sandy Creek Park - Athens-Clarke County - ball fields, a beach and lots of trails - we will circle Lake Chapman (about 7.5 miles), stop near our vehilces for a 15 min. lunch break and then continue another 4 miles to the Sandy Creek Nature Center.  (We will work out a shuttle back to our vehilces).

Not a super strenous hike but it will be long (almost 12 miles).  Hiking will be at a moderate pace, slow and easy on any hills (although there is minimal elevation).

Due to exploratory nature of the hike (I have never been to Sandy Creek Park before) please allow for slightly over/under on hiking time and mileage

There will be a carpool for this hike from Indian Trail Park and Ride (along I-85) - see below
