Itinerary:

Ok, lets do a nice little hike at the very underrated Simpsonwood Park.  There is a pretty good amount of mileage possible on these wooded trails, and I will just make up the route as we go along.  We should end up with about 5 miles in about 2 hrs, but could be a bit more or less.

The pace will be moderate, and we will pause at the top of the hills for the end of the group to catch up.  There aren't any mountains here, and the biggest climb is just about 70 feet and not very steep.  But everyone should take these climbs at their own comfortable pace.

There is one nice stretch along the banks of the Chattahoochee, and we can see parts of CNRA - Jones Bridge just across the river.  And I have seen deer on every hike I've ever done at Simpsonwood, so that is likely.

There may be a couple of little stream crossings where we can probably rock hop, but the water shouldnt come up above ankle level at the absolute most.  If you have waterproof boots, your feet shouldn't get wet, but I just have to mention that is a remote possibility if you do not.

This park has an interesting history, and there used to be a United Methodist Retreat Center here. One can see the remains of some old structures at various points on the property.

There are two or three parking areas, but we will start the hike near the bathrooms on the left, soon after you drive in.  So try to park there if you can find a space (likely), or if not, there is a bigger lot just around the corner and can walk back up to meet the group.

Parking is free.
