Itinerary:

Come join us for a paddle down the Hooch.  We will meet by the boat ramp at the Johnson Ferry Unit of the CRNRA, at 301 Johnson Ferry Rd SE, Marietta. We will drop our boats and shuttle cars to the take out at Paces Mill Park (aka West Palisades).  Please be on time, as this shuttle will be 45 minutes round trip, and we want to be on the water as close to 9:30am as possible.  Someone will remain with the boats during the shuttle period.

2.5 miles into our paddle we will reach the Cochran Shoals Unit CRNRA, another popular hiking and biking area.  An additional 1.5 miles later, we will arrive at the Powers Island CRNRA, on the left. Soon after passing Powers Island, we will pass under I-285 and begin the Palisades Unit CRNRA on the left.   After the final 2.5 miles, we will reach the take-out at the Paces Mill Unit CRNRA, on the right.  Frequent sightings along this section include blue herons, kingfishers, and otters.

This is a BYOB (bring your own boat) event.  See notes below for rental information.  While the put-in is a NOC Chattahoochee River Outpost, with rentals, the outpost does not open until 10am.

We do not plan to stop during this paddle, but will optionally gather for lunch afterwards, if you would like to join us.

CRNRA requires a parking pass.  Their daily pass is $5.00 and their annual pass is $40.00.  You can obtain a pass at either the put-in or the take-out.
