Itinerary:

This is a very popular hiking spot at the Red Top Mountain State Park with well-established trail systems, beautiful Allatoona Lake, various landscapes, and it’s close to home. We will take longer breaks at our stopping points to fully enjoy the nature. If you’re in a hurry, then this outing with longer breaks may not be a right event for you.

We’ll meet and start in front of the Park Office, NOT the Visitor Center. You will drive pass the Visitor Center first, then to the Park Office. Please watch the sign closely. We’ll cover Homestead, Sweet Gum, Iron Hill Trails, and their connecting trails. We’ll take breaks at various scenic spots along our way.

Please only register if you have D3/D4 hiking experience. We’ll go at a moderate pace of 2.5 to 3 mph. It’s not slow & steady.

Georgia State Park requires $5 entry/parking fee, or use your annual pass. Annual pass is a great way to motivate oneself to keep coming back and enjoy all of the Georgia state parks. It is more convenient and very cost effective.

If your experience is not from the club, please include it in a note when you register, or email TL; otherwise you will be moved to the waiting list for the safety of everyone. We encourage our members to actively participate with joyful experience, and most importantly to stay healthy and safe at the end of our event.
