Note: In order to sign up for this trip, you must be available the evening of Tues, May 18 or Thurs May 20 for a MANDATORY short in-water kayak session in North Atlanta (free). Contact trip leader (Udo Licht: udolicht@yahoo.com or tel: 404-483-2050) within 2 weeks of signing up to book your session, or your name will be removed).

On the river, Udo Licht will give a 1-hour instruction on basic kayak techniques (safety, how to read the water, river features, basic kayak moves, etc). We will then kayak till approx 4 pm, with a half-hour lunch stop. We should be back in Atlanta by approx 6 pm. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: The trip leader is not a certified instructor. You are solely responsible for your safety. We will be using ‘real’ performance kayaks (sit-inside) and a spill will cause you to hang upside down in the water (possibility of striking/pinning on rocks). You must be prepared to perform the correct procedures to exit the boat and get yourself to safety.
