Itinerary:

Let's start the work week right. Join me on this evening hike to enjoy the warmer for winter weather and hopefully see nice sunset at Indian Seats or the observation platform.

We will meet at Bettis Entrance Sawnee Mountain Preserve Indian Seats Trail Parking - 2500 Bettis Tribble Gap Rd, Cumming, GA, close to the restrooms. From there we will start hiking on Indian Seats Trail going westerly direction. In about 2.5 miles we will reach the Indian Seats Summit. Here we will take a few minutes break to enjoy views and catch our breath. After the sunset we will descent down the trail for about one mile and be back to parking lot where we started. If you are not comfortable hiking at twilight bring a flashlight.

This will be moderate pace hike with moving speed between 2.5-3 miles per hour. The total hike distance will be around 3.5 miles, with about 800 feet of elevation change, so we will get a good workout as well. Please make sure to arrive 5-10 minutes eralier so after short introduction we can start hiking promptly at 4.45 pm, we don't want to miss the sunset, if we have a chance to see one.
