Moderate (7 miles on Moderate terrain) We will be hiking from Lake Winfield Scott to Slaughter Gap to Blood Mountain, using the Application Trail, Jarrard Gap trail, and the Slaughter Creek trail. The total distance is about 7 miles over moderate terrain. I plan to stop for lunch on the peak of Blood Mtn. | |||||||

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | Chattahoochee National Forest 10:45, Lake Winfield Scott Campground
Take GA 400 North from Atlanta until the 4 lanes end (about 40 miles). Turn Left onto US 19 for another 5 miles to Dahlonega. Stay on US 19 for 8 miles past Dahlonega, then turn Left onto Highway 60. Take Hwy 60 for 10 miles to the small town of Suches. Turn Right onto Highway 180. Follow 180 for 7 miles, then turn Right into Lake Winfield Scott. Park at the near side of the Lake. (about 1.5 hours total from Park & Ride) | ||||||
