Itinerary:

AT to Cowrock Mountain

This is one of my favorite sections of the AT in Georgia, several great views and just the right amount of miles for a fun day on the AT.

We will be moving at a FAST-Moderate pace of about 3 mph.

We will start at the Byron Reese parking lot where we will take the Byron Reese Trail to the junction with the AT.  We will head north on the AT. We will quickly get to Neels Gap where porta-potties await our arrival. Back on the trail we go as we head to our first overlook at the top of Levelland Mountain. We will pause here to snap some pics, tell some lies and have some fun. Not much further down the trail, Wolf Laurel Mountain will greet us with more stunning views. Pausing again we will snap more pics and tell jokes. Off to Cowrock Mountain we will go where the best views of the hike will be had. This time we will eat some food and bask in the glory of our half way point. After lunch we will retrace our steps to our cars.

This is a strenuous hike with over 2700 feet of ascent, solid D4 experience is required to join the fun.

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
