Itinerary:

Hyde Farm and the Powers Family Cemetary

We will start our hike at the Hyde Farm trailhead off Hyde road.  We will begin with a visit of the family cemetery of the Powers Family who among other things, operated Powers Ferry during the 1800's.  During our hike we will also learn about the large East Cobb farm that was operated first by the Powers family and then later by the Hyde family.

For this hike the itinerary will be dependant upon trail conditions but may include a visit to Morgan Falls dam, Mulberry creek and other points of interest.  We may also pop into the woods and do a little bushwhacking.  I estimate the 2 hour trek will cover approximately 5 miles but could be more or less dependent upon the path we end up taking.

Warning:  This hike will include a lot of time on lightly used and generally unmaintained trails and several creek crossing.  Waterproof boots and hiking poles are recommended.  Depending upon the trek we take,  some off trail bushwhacking may be included.  If you are not comfortable with these types of trail conditions, this hike may not be for you.  In any case, this hike is not recommended for beginners.

Software Glitch: If more participants than the stated event maximum are registered, those over the limit may be moved to the wait list.  Any participants who are cleared from the wait list will be cleared in the order they originally registered.
