Itinerary:

***NOTE: Location changed from the Arkaquah Trail, after speaking to the ranger at Brasstown Bald Visitor's Center who reports that the Arkaquah is heavily damaged and hazardous. Disappointed... but safety first.***

After what promises to be a rainy weekend, the weather forecast for Tuesday is looking great. Let's hit the AT Approach Trail and the Hike Inn Trail at Amicalola Falls for some sunshine and springtime views.

We will complete a 17 mile loop up to Springer Mountain and back. We will start the hike from the top of the Amicalola Falls and hike the AT Approach to Springer Mountain. We'll enjoy a short break at the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail before heading back down. On our way back, we will stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a few minutes to enjoy our (bring your own) lunch and perhaps a welcome glass of lemonade or hot cup of coffee. We usually luck into some homemade desserts, too. (Bring some tip money for the friendly, hard-working staff at the Hike Inn).  After our lunch break we will continue back on the Len Foote Trail to the parking lot.

This is an event for advanced hikers. If you do not have recent D4/D5 experience with the AOC you may be moved to the wait list.
