Itinerary:

Join us for a Multisport event – Paddling, Beach Combing and Sunning (yes, it’s a sport) in Myrtle Beach!

We will stay 3 nights in Myrtle Beach for paddling and beach hiking. We will be paddling the Waccamaw river (14 mile or less options), as well as Murrell’s Inlet sea marsh area with the Intercoastal Water way optional.

You have the option of bringing your own boat or rent from an outfitter.

When we are not paddling we will be combing the beach or staying at a local private resort that boasts several pools, jacuzzies, lazy river, poolside bars, restaurant, and more. The private resort is situated directly on the Intercoastal Waterway approximately 4 miles from the beach and the Grand Strand entertainment area and the Broadway at the Beach entertainment complex.

Lodging will be in Villas at the resort complete with kitchens, laundry and all the comforts of home. People will have to share beds or bring a sleeping pad/bags. Resort quiet hours are 10pm – 6am (city open all night). No pets are allowed – no exceptions (private resort rules). Parking is limited, carpooling is highly recommended. Some may have to park off site if we exceed our allowed allotment (I visited the resort, they have overflow parking, but....).

The cost includes lodging and 2 dinners (menu will be determined closer to time, probably home smoked bbq and....). All other meals are on your own, there are plenty of foraging opportunities amongst 100s of local eateries. The villas have complete kitchens with all cookware, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, etc. Everyone is welcome to bring their personal dietary choice, but please be sensitive to others (i.e. no fish and other strong-smelling foods). The cost will be $130 per person, I will send you payment info after you sign up. Payment will be due within 72hrs of you receiving the info. DO NOT PAY the AOC DIRECTLY.

There will be NO REFUNDS UNLESS ANOTHER PAYING PERSON TAKES YOUR PLACE.

Kayak rentals are your responsibility. There are several paddling options and the 1st choice is the Waccamaw River Blue Trail and Murrells inlet, the Intercoastal Waterway is another option as it flows behind the resort, but this cannot be determined until closer to time due to water flow.

I visited Myrtle Beach and spoke with some Outfitters. I made arrangements with WaccamawOutfitters.com in Conway. Depending on a flexible trip, single kayaks and all gear will be $40 for the day, tandem kayaks will run $50 for day. A shuttle option increases by $10 (attending members will discuss ahead of time of trip).
There are a couple of similar options for Murrells Inlet and I am in discussions with outfitters. Both places will require reservations, BYOBers we will work together for a shuttle option.

Summary: Paddling – BYOB or on your own rentals. No Pets. Must respect resort rules. Money due  72hrs after signing up, no refunds without someone taking your place. First signed up/paid first options of sleeping arrangements. Bed sharing or BYO bag a reality. Must Have A Great Attitude! 😊

Check In time 5pm (possibly sooner dependent on availability) on Sunday (I will send a group text with info). Check out 11am on Wednesday.
