Itinerary:

The Etowah disc golf course is located in the Riverside day use area directly downstream of the Allatoona dam. The plan is to play 18 holes of disc golf and then eat our lunch by the river. Please bring a cooler if needed, since we'll be playing for an hour or 2 before lunch.  If the water level is safe, we'll spend some time playing around in the Etowah river

This event is targeted at both people who have some disc golf experience and absolute beginners.  If you do not have discs we will have enough to let people borrow for the event.
You can learn some basics here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi ki/Disc_golf.

This is a casual event to just have fun and introduce the sport to new players, or improve skills of existing players. We may do a best shot format to keep things fun, then spend time on a practice hole for those looking for tips.

Etowah is a nice course with good variety, with some flat open holes and others in the woods and hills. More info about the course here: https://www.dgcoursereview.com/cou rse.php?id=9420.  Wear shoes you don't mind getting a little muddy.

There is a $5 per car entrance fee for the park. There isn't always an attendant on duty, however they have a debit/credit card kiosk at the gate.  There is not a cash option. Also, national parks annual passes should be honored at US Army Core of Engineers parks. We will meet in the first parking lot on the right after entering the park.
