Join me as I explore the Dawsonville Wilderness area. We will seeing 5 waterfalls, crossing creeks, swimming and having a great time! This is an 11 mile hike with 2800 feet of ascent.

We will park at the Wildcat Creek Campground. Our first trail will be the Wildcat Creek Trail where we will hike for 2 miles on a mostly flat terrain. We will then join the Fall Creek Trail where we will quickly see our first waterfall. We will stay on this trail for about 4 miles, see 2 more waterfalls and do the majority of our climb for the day. At this point we will join up with the Rocky Ford Trail, home to our last 2 waterfalls. We will stay on Rocky Ford for 2.8 miles when we will intersect with the Turner Trail. The Turner Trail will take us back to our cars and mark the end of our loop adventure.  Somewhere along the way we will be taking a break for lunch and perhaps a short swim.

There will be 4 wet foot crossing on this hike, we will be stopping to change shoes. Be sure to bring some appropriate shoes for creek crossing (up to waist deep) or be prepared to hike with wet feet.

This is a strenuous, wilderness hike. You must have recent D5 experience to participate in this event.
