Itinerary:

Hike Plan: We will meet in the overflow parking lot by the exit to the sidewalk going toward the park at 7:45 am for introductions. We will have a short stop at the Visitor Center, than take the paved road to the top parking lot and the trail to the top of the mountain. This route is about 1.5 miles each way and does not have the steep parts of the trail that are encountered when taking the trail up. After taking a break to enjoy the great views of the area from the top of the mountain, we will return by the same way. Upon returning to the Visitor Center we will head out for an easy 3 miles (1.5 miles each way) on the 21 Gun Trail. This will bring the total distance to just under 6 miles.
