Itinerary:
If you couldn't get on Rhett Smith's Vickery Creek hike on Sunday afternoon, come join us for an earlier version of this classic hike in Roswell, that ends with a waterfall.

This will be about a 5 mile hike, at a steady moderate pace, with some stops.  Feel free to bring a lunch or make sure you eat before you join us.

Vickery Creek, aka Big Creek, is one of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Areas. It is located right off the Square, in Roswell.

We will walk down the street from the parking lot to a bridge across the creek. From there we will basically walk counter clockwise around the trails in the park. The creek is large and scenic. The woods are a bit scruffy in spots, but they are ok. There is one tricky spot in the gorge; it's a "cliff"; we'll take a little extra care get thru it and keep on truckin'. We will visit the old dam, originally built in 1836, with the waterfall now flowing over it. We'll stop here for a while and those who are inclined can jump in the water for a swim.  Then its back across the bridge to the parking lot.
