Davidson-Arabia Dawdle-Along

Hello everyone! Let's get together for a Davidson-Arabia Dawdle-Along! We will be meeting at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in Lithonia, GA. We'll meet up by the maps near the nature center, then hit the trails. We'll wander around the Forest, Mile Rock, and PATH trails to get in about 4 miles over the course of an hour and a half.

This is intended to be a fairly easy walk. There are some ups and downs, but they are very gentle, and we will not be heading up to the top of the mountain. We'll be moving at a steady, relaxed pace. Overall, this should be a good hike for beginners looking for more of a walk than a workout. There are a few more roots on this path than we typically encounter on our Mason Mill hikes, so if you like using poles, please bring them. Please arrive about 10-15 minutes early. At 7:55 AM we will have introductions. We will begin our hike promptly at 8:00 AM and get back to the cars at 9:30 AM. 

The weather is predicting a 30% chance of rain with temps starting in the lower 70s Sunday morning as of this posting. I will continue to watch the weather closely for any changes. Be sure your shoes and gear are weather-appropriate. Water is required! Even though we are starting early in the AM, the temperatures have been dangerously hot this week and we don't want to take any chances. Please bring a bag or other holder if you don't care to carry your bottle.

From I-20 Eastbound - take exit 74 and continue straight for a little over a mile until you reach Evans Mill Rd. Turn right onto Evans Mill, which turns into Woodrow Dr. About a mile later, turn right onto Klondike. Go past the traffic circle (staying on Klondike, and in about 1/4 mile, the entrance to the parking lot will be on your right.
