Itinerary:

TRAIL FEST 2019

We're celebrating Trailfest 2019 with paddles and hikes!  http://www.dahlonegatrailfest.org< /a>

We'll be paddling Saturday and Sunday on the Chestatee, hiking the AT on Saturday, and hanging out in Dahlonega for Trail Fest!

Camping is available http://www.dahloneg atrailfest.org/camping.html

Sunday PADDLE

Join us for a BYOB/Appalchain Outfitters Rental paddle down the Chestatee River.

This is NOT an Outfitter Paddle It IS A BYOB with the Option of Securing Your Own Boat thru the Appalachain Outfitters.  We will be putting in at the fruit stand before Applachain Outfiiters - above the outfitter river wise. We will be taking out at the Chestatee River take out used by the Appalachai Outfitters. Therefore we will all meet prior to paddling and arrange a meet up on the water.

We will meet at 10:00 am at the Take Out located on Hwy 60 shortly after you turn left off 400 toward Dahlonega. We will meet as a group, determine who is BYOB and who is renting. The BYOBers will then determine how we can take the fewest vehicles possible to the put in and leave the others at the take out and teh renters will proceed to the Outfitters to secure boats. All are asked to meet at the take out first, please do not go to the put in unless you have your own shuttle set up.

It is highly recommended you contact the Appalachain Outfitters prior to Saturday and reserve a boat. http://canoegeorgia.com/    tel:7068647117

All Paddlers Must Have A PFD on their boats - no jacket - no paddle.

Take out (meeting place) - Chestatee River Take Out Hwy 19/60  - At the End of HWY 400 turn left toward Dahlonega, a very short distance on the left you will see signs for the Chestatee Kayak Take Out Park, proceed into park and we will meet here before going to the put in.

Sorry, no inflatable kayaks or SUPs.
