You don't have to leave the country to experience a True Eco- ZipLine Canopy Tour!  Historic Banning Mills Tree Flight Eco-Zip Line Canopy Tour is the ultimate adventure you won't want to miss! 

With almost two miles of cable, bridges, tree houses and three wonderful towers with several places over 200 feet in the air, the phrase "Tree Flight" definitely applies. You will zip line and traverse the cable and lily pad bridges from tree platform to tree platform as well as crisscross up to six times over the beautiful Snake Creek Gorge. A True World Class Canopy Tour!

We will be experiencng the "FULL Extreme Adventure" Tour, which will include the new "Screaming Eagle" zipline and the "High Tree Trek" Gorge Traverse.

Full Extreme Adventure: This is the pattern plus tour, which includes a really long 1500 ft zip line called the Big Daddy! During this tour, you will have to climb two 65 ft towers as well as climb onto a series of tree platforms. Then we will continue on to the High Tree Trek Gorge Traverse, by criss crossing back and forth over the Snake Creek gorge on long and high cable and wood bridges that are unbelievable. Heights vary from 50 to 100 ft in the air. And topping it all off, we now have The New SCREAMING EAGLE, a 2400+ ft. High speed Zip Line that starts in one of the tallest timber pole towers in the World - Breath taking Adventure and Awesome views! Total zip lines for this Full Extreme Adventure are 5 major zip lines, and 1 small one to reach the ground at the end.


Full Extreme Adventure : Can take up to 4-5 hours

Participant requirements:

  • Ladies must weigh between 100 lbs. and 250 lbs.
  • Guys must weigh betwween 100 lbs. and 285 lbs.

During the hot days of summer, Banning Mills must hold the upper weight limit to 285 pounds). Please note that each participant could be weighed at check in.


Physcial requirements:
  • Moderate amount of physical exertion
  • You should be able to climb normal stairs in two different 60 ft towers,and a 100 ft tower
  • Walk up to a half mile on unpaved trails with a couple of fairly steep inclines and have good balance capabilities.
  • Each participant must be physically able to control the speed of their travel along the zip lines by grasping the cable with leather gloves.
  • Participants must also be able to pull themselves along the zip cable several feet in the event they lose their momentum before reaching any given platform.

This adventure is NOT recommended for those with moderate to severe respiratory problems, heart problems, severe to moderate musculo skeletal problems, back problems or those who are in their mid to last trimester of pregnancy.




Required Items to Bring:

What to wear/bring

Closed toe shoes (hiking boots/shoes, sneakers, etc). NO Keens!

Longer shorts or pants

Fanny pack/small daypack

Lunch

Snacks

Water/sports drink


What NOT to wear/bring

Do NOT wear sandals, flip flops or open toed shoes or shoes with no backs of any kind!  Keens are sandals are NOT allowed.  If you do not have the appropriate shoes, you will NOT be allowed on the course and there is no refund for not having the right shoes. 

Do NOT wear short shorts due to the gear you will be wearing.

Do NOT wear tube tops or halter tops due to the gear you must put on. 


If you have anything loose, leave it in your vehicle or have a zip or bring a small "fanny pack" or small day pack.

If you bring a camera, make sure it has a wrist or neck strap attached. If you lose something at 200 ft in the air, you are most likely not going to get it back!

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Atlanta: Take I-20 west to exit 34. Go south on Hwy 5, about 19 miles to the second traffic circle. Not the first but the second traffic circle! Turn right onto Hwy 16/Alt 27 and go thru the town of Whitesburg, go under the railroad trussel (looks like a bridge) and then turn right onto Antioch Rd. You will see our sign on the right. After turning right onto Antioch Rd, go to the stop sign and then go straight. We are about a mile or so on the right.

From Atlanta: Take I-85 south to exit 47. Turn right onto Bullsboro Drive. Go several red lights down and turn right onto the 34 bypass. (you will see a Chick Fil A Dwarf house and a Burger King on the left). Go another few redlights down and turn right onto Hwy 16/Alt 27 (by the Go Cart World) going towards Carrollton. Go about 10 miles and you will come into Whitesburg and a traffic circle. Go straight thru the traffic circle, go thru the town of Whitesburg. Go under a railroad trussel and then turn right onto Antioch Rd. Go to the stop sign and then go straight thru. We are about a mile on the right.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $44.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:
Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.
