Itinerary:

It has been a while since I climbed Tray Mountain... it's time to go back!

I will be taking an alternate route that avoids the dreaded Rocky Mountain. We will start at Andrews Cove Campground for a 2 mile trip up the Andrews Cove Trail to the AT.

A right turn on the AT will continue our constant uphill journey to the summit. At the summit we will enjoy the views from the not-so-secret overlook where we will eat our lunch and enjoy the views.

After our meal, we will head to the Tray Mountain shelter and enjoy the outstanding view from there too.

Now it is time to retrace our steps (all downhill!) to our cars to complete our out and back adventure.

This is a strenuous event with 2800 feet of ascent in under 5 miles. Recent D5 experience is required to join the fun.
