Itinerary:

Burn off the calories, Summiting Coosa, Slaughter and Blood Mountain.

We'll start at Vogel State Park, hiking along the Coosa Backcountry Loop. Along the way we'll summit Coosa Bald (4280') and then the seldom climbed Slaughter Mountain (4338'). Rather than returning to Vogel State Park, we will continue on to Blood Mountain (4458'). Depending on the weather conditions and time, we might choose to hang out and enjoy the view from the top. After covering three summits, we will backtrack our steps via Slaughter Gap all the way to Vogel State Park.

This is NOT a beginners hike, so please do not sign up unless you are in excellent physical condition. I reserve the right to remove folks from the sign up list that have not hiked with me before.

There is a $5 park entrance fee at Vogel State Park.

Thanks Stefan Lutz for most of the write up.
