Blood Mountain is one of Georgia's premier hiking destinations. At 4,458 ft it is Georgia's 6 Tallest Mountains. This is a clockwise loop, we will begin our trek at the parking lot of Byron Herbert Reece Trail and hike to Flat Rock Gap. From there we will take the Appalachian Trail to Jarrad Gap and Blood Mountain ( will stop for a iconic view with Privey) on the way. We will then hike to Lake Winfield Scott for lunch (at the Pavilion with bathrooms viewing the lake). After the break we will take The Slaughter Creek Trail back to Flat Rock Gap where will takeThe Byron Herbert Reese access trail back to the cars. Note: This is not a beginner hike - those with insufficient A.O.C. D4 or D5 experience may be moved to the waiting list.
|How to Get There:|

|Carpool Cost:||Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $52.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.|
Will hike in rain if conditions are favorable, and plenty of carpool drivers .
