Itinerary:

Join the group for a scenic ascent of Kennesaw Mountain from the Burnt Hickory Road parking lot.  The trail begins with a steep ascent to Pigeon Hill, passes beautiful rock gardens and battlefield monuments as it reaches Little Kennesaw, and then makes a final push to the summit of Kennesaw Mountain where we will enjoy the view of Dallas and Marietta.  The trail descends steeply to the park visitor center where we will take a quick break before we make our return along the Camp Brumby Trail and the Pigeon Hill Cutoff (the second right turn, look for the bench). The 6-mile loop is challenging due to several steep and rocky sections and beginners may struggle on the ascents.

Please arrive and be ready to hike at 10:30 am.
