Itinerary:

Join us for a leisurely hike around the beautiful and rugged trails at Vickery Creek.  It's one of the many parks along the 48 miles of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA).  Vickery Creek is unique.  One side of the river (Big Creek) belongs to Roswell, and the other to the National Park Service.  Today's hike will focus on the CRNRA trails across the covered bridge.

When I joined the AOC, I discovered we put a lot of miles on local trails.  To give back, I became an active CRNRA volunteer and recently became liaison between the two organizations.  Most trail work is done by volunteers so the parks need our help to protect and maintain them.  On this event, I'll focus on awareness and will discuss different volunteer activities and opportunities.  While on the trails, I'll point out challenges and will introduce our new Adopt-A-Park program.  Please bring a small plastic bag to collect trash along the way.

We'll meet at The Roswell Mill parking area.  Drive to the bottom of the road/hill where plenty of free parking is available.  We'll meet near the park benches by the wooden entrance and start promptly at 10 AM, so please arrive 10 minutes early.

GPS users can use the following destination:  34.01382, -84.35896

Restrooms are located near the covered bridge.  Allow extra time to use the facilities before the hike starts.
