Amicalola Falls Hike Inn Loop

Want to go for a walk in the woods with your 2020 AOC Executive Officers? Join us for an early springtime trek to the Hike Inn. Beginning at the trailhead at the top of the falls, we will hike the Len Foote trail for about 5 miles to the Hike Inn, where we will stop for a break and to eat a snack/lunch. We will return by continuing one mile more on the Len Foote trail. We will then turn onto the AT Approach Trail and hike approximately 4.25 miles, completing the loop back down to the top of the falls. We will take the short stroll down to view the falls at the overlook.

Your Executive Officers have a couple of small surprises in mind for you. Nothing major, just suffice to say it will be a little different from your average hike. 

The total distance is approximately 11 miles round trip with a moderate to fast hiking speed. The Trip Leaders reserve the right to remove anyone from the list who does not have recent D4 experience.

North on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. Once in the park, follow the signs to the parking above the falls.  There will be a bathroom at the trailhead.

It's the first left you can make in the parking lot and you'll cross a bridge and then climb and follow the signs to the top of the falls to your right. There is three tiered parking available with the top tier having the restroom building and the trailhead for the Hike Inn Trail. We'll meet on the topmost tier closest to the trailhead.
