Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

The Bartram trail runs for 35 miles in Georgia and follows the approximate route of 18th century naturalist William Bartram's southern journey. Join me as I explore 3 seldom hiked sections of this iconic trail.

Part I Osage Overlook to Rabun Bald

Part II Warwoman Dell to Dicks Creek Falls

Part III Bartram TH to Dicks Creek Falls

Part III Bartram TH to Dicks Creek Falls

This is a wonderful trail with light traffic and terrific views. The first two parts of this series have been very nice and the final section should be too.

We will starting at the Bartram Trail main trailhead on highway 28. We will be following the yellow blaze and staying close to the Chattooga River for our entire trek. There will be many beautiful views of this river, famous for the movie Deliverance, hopefully we won't be meeting any of the nefarious characters from that classic movie, but you never know! Our halfway point will be the stunning Dicks Creek Falls. The falls are at the intersection of Dicks Creek and the Chattooga river and are awesome! We will stop here for lunch and shenanigans before retracing our steps back to our cars.

This is a long hike and overall we should average around 2.7 mph, this is on the fast side of moderate. You should be comfortable maintaining a fast-ish pace for many miles.

Recent D6 experience is required to join the fun. We reserve the right to move under-experienced adventurers to the waiting list.
