Itinerary:

GSMNP is the premier hiking location in the southeast, but there is more to it than Alum Cave, Charlies Bunion etc... Come with us and explore some other awesome trails!

This is a 3 day weekend chock full of awesome with 3 hikes for your enjoyment. Join 1, 2 or all 3 and make it YOUR weekend.

1. Rocky Top from Lead Cove

2. Mt Cammerer from Low Gap

3. Ramseys Cascade

Mt Cammerer

We will meet at the Cosby Campground Parking lot at 9am. We will start on the Low Gap Trail for 3 miles of climb within earshot of the Cosby Creek until we reach the namesake gap and a junction with the white blazed AT. A left turn on the AT will give us 3 more miles of a less steep climb to reach the beautiful fire tower on top of Mount Cammerer. This tower looks awesome and will yield magnificent views for us to enjoy while our lunch is enjoyed. After lunch we will retrace our steps in what should be an enjoyable downhill, fast paced return.

This hike is a difficult D5 with about 3500 feet of ascent. Recent strenuous hiking is required to join the fun.  We will be averaging about 2.7 mph which puts our pace on the high end of moderate.
