This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Exploratory Hike - I have never hiked Fort Mountain but would love to visit.  We will start at the Visitor's Center at Fort Mountain State Park - hike about .2 miles on the Big Rock Trail and pick up the Gahuti Inner Loop (hike due north) which will bring us to the West Overlook Trail, the Stone Wall Trail, North Stone Tower Trail, we'll head back and stop at the Cool Springs Overlook, take a 15 min. break for lunch.  Then head back south towards our cars.  (All above about 7  miles).  Then a tour of the Goldmine Trail (about 3 miles) and then back to our cars.  Total hike 10 miles (give or take a bit due to the exploratory nature of the hike).  I am alloting five hours total.  There is some elevation, rated as a D4 due to the elevation and length but not the speed.  I'll take it slow and easy on the uphills and a more moderate pace on more level surfaces.  If you are looking for a fast paced hike this is not it.

$5.00 fee required at GA State Parks (unless you have annual pass)

Daily or Annual pass can be purchased at the park or https://gastateparks.org/ThingsToKnow

Only the first nine (10 including me) that sign up will be on the attendee list.  Sometimes when everybody tried to register at once the system doesn't stop at the max of 10 and may let others register.  I will be removing anybody more than the ten and moving them onto the waitlist.
